From its very creation in 1924, Dacia was meant as a periodical on the archaeology and ancient history of Carpatho-Danubian areas. The new series of our publication aims to publish synthesis papers dedicated mainly to the specific aspects of the civilizations in the Carpatho- Danubian and Pontic areas, in tight correlation to the stage of the research, and the issues of the synchronic cultural horizons. Our journal is also interested in contributions on subjects of wide interest in other regions. The synthesis papers in Dacia. Revue d’archéologie et d’histoire ancienne. Nouvelle série should review the main results of the research on various themes of archaeology, numismatics, epigraphy, prosopography, art and architecture, bioarchaeology, archaeometry and theory in archaeology. Occasionally, our journal publishes groups of studies dedicated to specific research issues. The Notes and Discussions focus on punctual matters in archaeology, history, and adjacent fields. Reviews are also welcome as well as tributes to various personalities with significant contributions to the development of (mainly) Romanian archaeology as well as ancient and medieval history.
The chronological spectrum covered by the studies and the notes published is a rather broad one, ranging from the Palaeolithic to the Middle Age.
All papers are published exclusively in languages of international circulation (English, French, German and Italian). The journal has one annual printed issue.
This is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
