Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Ethics and Malpractice Statement of the Dacia N.S. journal is based on the principles in the COPE – Best practice guidelines for journal editors.

Responsibility of authors:

  • the authors will only submit original contributions complying with the present day regulations on plagiarism, in all its forms (COPE Plagiarism in a submitted manuscript)
  • when submitting a manuscript, the authors will sign a statement on the originality of the work submitted to the journal
  • the authors will declare the manuscript was not submitted for publication to another journal at the moment it was submitted to Dacia N.S.
  • authors should make sure they cited adequately all sources and information in the manuscript and that they have obtained all necessary permission to use them
  • the authors must declare any existing conflict of interest
  • the authors must disclose all sources of the financial support of the research at the basis of the respective publication
  • when an author discovers a significant error in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to notify the editorial board and cooperate with the latter to correct the paper

Duties of the editorial staff:

  • they will not disclose any information from the submitted manuscripts
  • will not disclose information on the process of evaluation of the manuscripts
  • will make sure the manuscripts are reviewed solely on their originality, content, argumentation, bibliography, illustration, and quality of translation
  • will facilitate communication with the reviewers
  • will notify of any conflict of interest
  • will analyse the manuscripts suspected of plagiarism
  • will reject the manuscripts proved as plagiarism

Duties of the reviewers:

  • will not disclose any information present in the manuscripts received for review
  • will not contact the authors without informing the editorial board
  • will review the manuscripts based solely on their originality, content, argumentation, bibliography, illustration, and quality of translation
  • will provide to the editorial board with a prompt, correct, honest and unbiased review of the qualities and weaknesses of the manuscript
  • will not use any information on the manuscript to their own advantage or of others
  • will notify the editorial board of all conflicts of interest and will refuse to review manuscripts based on research with competing interests or in carried out in collaboration with their own
  • will notify the editorial board of any suspicion of plagiarism
  • will notify the editorial board of any breach of the code of ethics and professional deontology
